Course Description:

This course focuses on concepts and characteristics of the professional nursing role of the BSN graduate; providing practical applications for topics directly related to nursing practice. Research and critical thinking are emphasized.

Course Objectives:
  • Describe the characteristics of the baccalaureate prepared nurse.
  • Compare and contrast the role and responsibilities of ADN vs. BSN.
  • Identify and demonstrate knowledge of concepts relevant to nursing practice.
  • Explain the development of nursing as a profession and the impact of nursing theories.
  • Define the relationship of nursing to both the health care system and health professions.
